Paddling and Kayaking on Crystal River

Tour This Lovely Area

Kayaking or Paddle Boards are excellent ways to quietly explore the waterways of Crystal River and Kings Bay.

These local waters are exceptional in their natural beauty with undisturbed islands, inlets, backwaters, and forests, cherished by nature lovers and photographers. Kayaking, like canoeing, is also known as paddling, but is different by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. In a kayak, the paddler faces forward, legs in front, and uses a double-bladed paddle. Kayaks are also physically different as they have a lower profile, and our Adventure Center rents tandem and single "sit-on-top" kayaks. Watch Manatee Manners for Paddling to learn about the Crystal River national wildlife refuge.

Kayaking and Manatee Tours in Crystal River

Kayaks are stable and easy to use. One of the greatest benefits of kayaking is how quiet a boating experience they provide. In Crystal River and Kings Bay, quiet is cherished as it will allow you to get closer to manatee, fish, birds, and wildlife of all types, especially in and around shallow waters. And if you come aground, freeing yourself is as easy as a soft push off with your paddle. Our rental kayaks are made of durable roto-molded polyethylene resins which are very light and forgiving, as well as easy to maneuver. Their stability allows for easy picture taking and fishing, as well.
